delete photos from master and shared album ?

If I have a shared photo album and when I delete a photo from my master library does the same photo get deleted from the shared album.

I want to setup photos such that if i delete a photo from my master library the same photo gets deleted from the shared album.

I deleted a set of photos from my master library but they are still in the shared album.

thanks

Rohit

The Shared album has separate copies of the photos. They may be of a smaller photo size and stored in iCloud, not in your library. So you have to delete them separately from the shared album and from your library.

I really want a way to share photos so that when I delete or edit them from my master library they should be updated on the shared folder.  When I delete a photo in my master library I see a msg that it will be deleted everywhere....

Sharing is semi functional if the pictures are not updated, also one cannot delete pictures others have added, it would be nice to have a OWNER for a shared album that can do this.

Thanks for your answer.   The way you have stated is that way I see it working...

It is not intended to treat the shared albums as a part of the Photos Library, that will update, when you edit a photo. When the shared albums first had been introduced long ago, in iPhoto and Aperture, they have been called Shared Photo Stream, which is describing much better what they are. They are streams to transfer photos and not a gallery to create web presentations. When you share a photo it is like dropping a picture postcard into a mailbox. Once you dropped it into the box, you can no longer modify it.

If you update a photo you shared, you have to share the modified version again, if you want the recipients to see the update.

If you import a photo from the shared album, you can at least find the imported version quickly. Ctrl-click or right-click the photo in the shared album and select "Show in Moment".  Then you can delete the imported version.
