Trouble w/Excel iPad app

I can't open or create any Excel files on my iPad. Each attempt results in a quick blink then back to the home page. Have been unable to get any help from Microsoft. Is there any way to go back to and older version of the Excel app (prior to 2.6) to see if it really is an issue With heir new version. Tried Restoring to time prior to the up date 10/9 but the restores keep picking up the latest Excel version 2.6.
