apple watch not getting notifications

I have the apple watch series 2, which i recently updated. And I have the iphone 6s plus which i also recently updated.

My watch is no longer getting text/phone call notifications. I have them set to mirror my iphone, and it used to do it, it just randomly stopped the other day! Also, when i open up my messages app on my watch, the messages are not up to date, they are still there from the day it stopped working.

I tried to click reset sync data in the settings on the apple watch app on my phone, yet nothing happens when i click it.

I suggest that you follow the instructions here for checking that your Apple Watch and iPhone are connected and, if they are not, for reconnecting them:
