Font issues in Safari and Mail when other Helve...

We recently got a bunch of new computers and they came with Mac OS Sierra so I migrated everyone to Sierra who were getting the new computers. What we've ran into in our production/design environment is when any other Helvetica is activated, the fonts in Mail and Safari would turn into boxes with question marks. Only way to make that go away is to deactivate any Helvetica that are not the System Helvetica. Not sure why Apple made this change because I would open the same email on a 10.10 computer and activate a bunch of different Helvetica and it would not change the fonts in Mail or Safari. If I do the same thing in 10.12, BAM! boxes with question marks.

BTW, we have change the default fonts in Mail and Safari but any emails that uses Helvetica in a chain would still have the boxes with question marks. It doesn't really fixes the issue fully.

Does anyone have a workaround for this? Appreciate any tips!
