External Monitor issue 2011 Macbook

I purchased the Dell U2415 because of it's great reviews, it matches the 1920X1200 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio.  However, I still see the pixelation in the texts and also, things are shrunk to the screen that on everything - google searches, facbook, ebay, amazon, youtube, etc .... I have to zoom in to read comfortably.

Would I be better off getting a 4K or 2K monitor and scaling it so I can see the text at least as smooth and clear and sharp as my iPhone 7?  Don't get me wrong, I have the same issue on the Macbook screen, but I want a screen that resolves this issue - I just feel I duplicated it on a 24" monitor.

I had a 27" iMac 2011 that had the 2560 resolution and it was very glaring.  I also had to zoom in for comfort.  Will a 4K monitor from Dell (Dell Psomething that's around 500 dollars) allow me to scale down to 2K and see everything like I want it to be?

Also, what about the aspect ratio?  When I scaled this monitor to 1080p it looked stretched and awful.  Dell has a 30" 16:10 2K monitor - but - I'm trying to see things as smooth and sharp as possible without zooming in everytime.

Please help?
