watch series 3 cellular weak signal

Regarding the series 3 Watch. First, weak signal. While my iPhone 6s shows full 4 bars, Watch zero. I use the Explorer watch face that is supposed to include the signal strength...it doesn't. I have attempted to make calls on my Watch without showing any signal strength bars on the Watch, sometimes yes and no. Most times no even with my phone next to me with good signal strength. Yes, everything has been updated. So, very weak signal strength on Watch. I have Verizon as my carrier.

Why does Explorer watch face show any signal even tho iPhone does? I would like to monitor signal on my Watch so at least I know what areas are good to make calls and others not so much.
