iPod Nano playlist issues

Recently my iPod Nano started "kicking me out" of my playlist at the end of each song, taking me back to the music icon. Is this a setting issue? I want to stay in my playlist and have my songs continue rather than clicking on the music icon, searching for my playlist, and finding the next song.
