Video tab in iTunes has disappeared, can't find...

itunes in windows has lost the home video tab

when I import movies into iTunes they transfer as home videos, I would then go into get info and change the type from video to movie

there video tab has recently disappeared so I can't access the videos to convert them

Click the ellipsis tool (three dots in a row) to show or hide media sources. Home Videos is one of the tabs of the Movies source.

Thank you, this is where it used to be... It's not there now, that is the problem.

Ctrl+2 should also switch to the movies source.

You may be on to something, when I press ctrl+2 something flashes on the screen looks like view more or something but it disappears to fast to do anything

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. Uninstall everything and then reinstall as set out in the second box.

Go to Preferences -> Advanced in iTunes and see where your media is being stored.  Go there and add a folder named "Home Videos".  Restart iTunes and import your videos again.  Now the Home Video tab will appear.  At least it worked for me...

This one seems to be back with 12.3.3.17 — Damm.

Tried that one but did not help. But it seems 12.3.3.17 is full of bugs.

Experienced this earlier with a fresh install of itunes. What I did was drag a movie to "My Movies", then it will add "Home Videos" and add the video there.

Hope this works for you.

This worked for me on the OSX 10.11.5 update. In iTunes. Use the search box in iTunes to find the movie. Right click to open 'Get Info' under options, select movie. This also worked on TV.

A recent update to iTunes has changed the way certain content is accessed. Revealing the Home Videos section of the library requires that you discover a hidden edit menu that you've no reason to suspect exists, and then unhide the thing you didn't know was hidden.

The word Edit to the right of Library only appears if you move your cursor over the position where it would appear.

Click it to reveal this menu:

And then check Home Videos:

You can then click Done, and finally click Home Videos to see what it contains.

Hi,

I had the same problem after upgrading to Windows 10 and iTunes 12.4.1.6.

The above helped me add Home Videos to my sidebar, but, still doesn't show Home Videos in the top Menu Bar if I don't have the Sidebar showing.

Previously, I had the 4 options across the top - Movies, Unwatched, iTunes Store & Home Videos. Now there is just My Movies, Unwatched and iTunes Store. The only way I can select/view my Home Videos is by having the sidebar displayed, which I prefer not to have.

Is there a way of getting it to show in the top menu again?

Not with this build. Try iTunes Feedback or use Apple Bug Reporter.

My solution to the problem of "missing" Home Videos in Movies in iTunes Library:

I loaded a new video into my library.  Home Videos reappeared in the side bar and all the content already in my library was there.

It seems like iTunes just needed to be "kick started."
