Need to return my Imac

Hi

I am occasionally getting thin green line on the right side of my screen so I have decided to return it for a new imac (still in 14days), but I need to erase my data went to utilities to erase the disk but won't allow me. Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to restore my imac to factory setting in order to return.
