[MBP] 1 key stopped working

im hoping there is a solution to a dead key

i opened the key cover.. cleaned it out.. closed it - and the pressDown is not registering.

re-opened it and tried it just with my finger tip directly on the nipple, no luck.
removed the nipple, pressed, no luck. Basically the contact is not registering at all.

i feel it could be a short? what else can i do besides the 30 step SUPER HARD keyboard replacement?

key looks beatup inside

Hi,

The key looks like it had a liquid spill on it. If the condition of the contact on the inside is anything like the outside, that's definitely the issue and I know of no way to fix it except to replace the keyboard.
