Recommendations for"external hard drive" for Ma...

Recommendations for"external hard drive" for Mac OS Sierra?

I have been looking around the web for the past couple of days and although I don't seem able to make a final decision re which external hard drive to purchase - I have decided that 2 terabytes is the storage capacity I will go for.

I was having a good luck at the Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim Portable Drive

I wondered whether any of you have this model or an earlier seagate model as your external hard drive?

And of course what any of you (who have Mac OS Sierra) are using as your external hard drive. for your backups storage etc etc?

You can use literally any directly connected (USB2 or 3, Thunderbolt, FireWire...) hard disk drive. I use a variety of hard disk drives from all the popular manufacturers including Seagate. I have not found any particular manufacturer to be significantly better than any other. The one you propose is fine.

If its purpose is for Time Machine backups, speed is not important. 2 TB is a fairly standard and cost effective capacity. Format it using Disk Utility, thereby erasing whatever junk software their manufacturers are fond of bundling with them.
