Clear water function

Apple watch series 2, my clear water function does not seem to be working. I select the water drop, rotate the dial, see the water droplet animation but I do hear the sound it would normally make when it clears the water.  I get no sound from my watch when the alarm goes off.  Please advise.  Thanks.
