Ipad Air "Ghost Typing", need help!

For the last few months, my Ipad Air has been having a very strange problem. 5 minutes after using the Ipad with wi-fi on, the screen will start going crazy, as if someone was tapping on random icons on the screen. After some googling, I found out that people call this "Ghost Typing".

But when I turn wi-fi off, the Ipad functions normally! That's the problem. Why does it only function normally when wi-fi is turned off? I feel like someone might be operating my device remotely somehow, like a stalker, it's really creepy.
