iPad fail

Why can’t a document from a website that is a pdf be downloaded directly to the iPad. Not to a cloud but the local drive. I have 25gb, is that just for show? I was able to do this task on my kindle in 5 minutes. My 2013 kindle. Yet, my iPad wouldn’t allow me.

Clearly I’m missing how downloading from a website to iPad is done. Surely, this is an allowed feature.

You can most certainly download a PDF from a website !

You can view it by Downloading iBooks or any other content reader app to your iPhone; but iBooks is the best app for it .

Tap on the Pdf download and you should get options, One of them will be Open with iBooks.

Thanks, I will try this. And when I do this, the pdf will be housed on my lcoal drive. So that I can then upload the pdf to another website?

Nope, didn’t work. Said document could not be viewed. Too much trouble for such a basic task.

Could you kindly provide the link of the website ( pertaining to the PDF) along with a screen shot! So that I could have a better understanding of your problem?

Unfortunately, I can’t. Business related document. Rest assured it’s a regular pdf. Shouldn’t using adobe acrobat work. But most importantly, shouldn’t I be able to save to my iPad locally. Then pull that document for later use by uploading to other docs? The fact that I have to ask this seems bizarre. This should be intuitive to this device. I had a MacBook for 7.5 years. So I’m not new to iOS.

I have an iPhone 5C and I use iBooks to import all my PDF'S and it works flawlessly!

I was able to download, have saved on my kindle and uploaded to new site in 5 minutes. There’s no special protection. From what I see, just the iPad not being cooperative.
