Problem with Yahoo News. Has anyone encountered...

deleted (didn't realize the problem was on an iPad)

I no longer have a Yahoo account so can't test this problem. But there have been numerous posts on the support forums by users experiencing these pop-ups. The only way to get rid of them is to quit Safari, then delete all history and data. Finally avoid visiting those websites again.

To quit Safari double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will display a sample page. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.

Next use Settings to delete Safari History and Data

Settings > Scroll down to Safari > Scroll down and click on "Clear History and Website Data"

Finally avoid the offending website. If you depend on Yahoo for news etc. perhaps it's time to find an alternate source for that information until the problem is corrected.
