I recently changed my password and passcode. While the password seems to work, the passcode is giving me a problem. It wouldn't accept the new passcode for about 24 hours. Then it did accept it but I have been afraid to turn the iPad off for fear of the passcode not working again. Just now I went to update the iPad with 11.0.3 and it asked for a passcode. I put the new one in and it didn't accept it. i don't want to keep trying the passcode and then have the device disabled. I have backed it up to iCloud but prefer not to have to wipe the iPad and then recover it. Any suggestions?
How did you change your phone's passcode, the one used to open the lockscreen and it said it takes 24 hours to acceptz/ That is ridiculous. When you change your passcode on the device, it is changed right then and there, and works right away. i'm not sure exactly what you may have been doing, but I suggest you explain your process so we can see exactly what it was that you did and try to help you.
Thanks for the reply Chris. I was loading a bunch of apps that allow me to access my work email, files, browser, etc. when a box came up telling me to change my apple id, password and then passcode. I hesitated at first because it didn't sound right to me, but these work apps can have strange requirements. Anyway, everything seemed fine until I shut the iPad off. When I turned it back on it wouldn't accept the new passcode, or the old one, and eventually disabled itself. Also was having trouble with the new apple password. Apple support told me to initiate a recover and get a new password. So the next day i turned the ipad on and to my surprise, it accepted the new passcode. i haven't turned it off since then because I don't trust the passcode. Like I said, I just tried updating the software to 11.0.3 and it asked for a passcode then told me there was an error with that. I have been able to log into apple.com so i know my apple id and password are working.
It sounds like your device is being managed by your work if they were providing you with apps. Also, this popup about making changes could very well have been something that is part of their management of the device. I suggest that you take it into your IT department and let them help you troubleshoot this issue. It may be something they are going to have to do. Also explain to there what you witnessed regarding this login and delay. See what they have to say.

You are going to have to if they are providing you with apps to download to the device to handle mail. They must be doing something to manage these devices so you can download these apps.
