Stop automatically incorrectly connecting to sh...

I have never saved any login info to my NAS device but OS X automatically connects to it by showing it in Finder under Shared but I actually can't access anything on the NAS.  I don't have it in Login settings and I don't have any password saved in Keychain.  What's causing it?  I actually do want to have it auto connect, but correctly so I can access the files on NAS. I can do manual connect to servers and connect to it using smb and it's IP but I don't want to do it this way.  I want it to be correctly connected under Shared in Finder.  This was fine before, just started about a week ago but I have not made any changes to the computer.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

The Shared section in the Sidebar just shows network shares that are advertising that they are available. It doesn't "connect" to them.

When you select the shared server, it attempts to connect with last known credentials or displays a dialog to log into the share.

OK, so how do I fix this?  When I click disconnect and reconnect, it again connects somehow (doesn't prompt me for the username and password), but I can't access anything.  If the credentials were wrong should it not connect?  I see that it's connected with a correct username but I have no idea what password it is using.  And by the way, the username and password have not changed for the past 5 years.
