iPad battery looses charge quickly

iPad Air 4, less than a year old, will charge completely. Will use it for about an hour before going to work. Will come home and battery is less than 20%. I frequently  close all apps so nothing should be running in the background. Installed IOS 11 last week. Any suggestions to get the iPad to hold a charge?
