macbook bluetooth "stolen" by smartphone

Hi,

I was wondering how to "win" the bluetooth pairing competition on my macbook air.

Both my macbook and my Android phone "remembers" my bluetooth headphone, so that when the headphone is turned on, it's immediately paired with my Android phone.  Very convenient.

But the problem is that my headphone gets paired with my Android phone even when I'm sitting right in front of my macbook and my Android phone is three meters (10 feet) away beyond a wall.  I remember the same thing used to happen in an iMac-vs-iPhone competition many years ago.  The iPhone always won unless it was far far away.

How can you make the macbook respond more quickly or more strongly than the Android phone?  (I wish the macbook were equipped with NFC.)

You are probably going to have to temporarily turn Bluetooth off on the phone until the headphone connects to the Mac. Then you should be able to turn it back on.
