my mac pro keeps emails in my outbox

My mac pro keeps my emails in the outbox instead of sending them.

email requires both a reciving Server and a Sending server, set up correctly and operating.

Use Mail > Window > Connection Doctor ...

...to get a display of the status of each Server. Click on any red Lights to be taken directly to the setup for that not-working Server, and see if you can enter any missing information to make it go.

Not helpful.  Mail still stuck in outbox.

do you have all green lights on the connection Doctor window?
