Can you helpme with my husband‘s ipad2?

Just happened now. It‘s an ipad2 of my husband. He just charged it since it is empty and after few hours since he took a nap he just found his ipad like this. It‘s 4 years old already. We are very much dissapointed. We‘ve been trusting apple products for so many years and this is actually the second time already where we encountered this kind of problem. The first one was with my husband‘s iphone5. It was only in his cabinet for couple of months with no power then i just saw that the back part looks like exploded. The battery actually exploded. Thank God it was replaced by his company since it was a company phone. I hope that apple will do something about this. Thank you
