Mac OS Sierra: Unable to drag from Downloads fo...

Hiya!

I am currently on macOS Sierra 10.12.3. I am unable to somehow drag files (click + hold + drag) from my Downloads folder to the finder favourites (in the sidebar) I used to be able to drag files into the Airdrop favourites and wait to select which party i want to airdrop it to but now it doesn't blink and open that favourite in the same window anymore.

Help please?

Yes going to User/Home Folder/Downloads i can drag it to Airdrop in the favourites...

I have corrected the Dock Alias and it now works. My problem is solved, thank you all

a simple reset of Finder perhaps:

in the Apple menu (top left) select Forcequit, in there select Relaunch Finder.

Thank you. I did try relaunching finder and also restarting my Mac, but it didn't help. Problem still persists. I also tried to change permissions and that didn't work either.

Does the drag method work to any other folder?

As a test, can you go to your user/Home folder/Downloads and drag from there? If so, the Dock alias may be corrupt.

It works if i drag from 'Documents' to Airdrop or to 'Desktop' using the favourites but just not from 'Downloads'... very odd.

How do you correct the Dock Alias? I have tried everything but it doesn't work.
