address book clicks to wrong email

I switched from Gmail back to Apple Contacts and Apple Mail. When I click on a person's email address in Contacts an email composition window pops up from my Gmail account. How can I switch the to Apple Mail.

P.S. Strange that I couldn't find a Contacts forum in the long list, so I chose Imac knowing it's wrong. If you can kindly re-direct or send me the proper link, I'd appreciate it greatly.

I understand you have a question about the Mail application on your iMac.  

I switched from Gmail back to Apple Contacts and Apple Mail.

I'm not clear what you mean by this.  Contacts and Mail are applications to manage the people in your address book and sending/receiving email.  Gmail is an email account.  It sounds like you want to create an iCloud email account which is managed by Apple.  The resource below explains how to enable that feature.  You can have multiple email accounts within the Mail application.

A "best practice" is to keep your contacts, emails, calendars, and notes all managed and synchronized with the iCloud account, and not have this data spread out among different accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, etc.  This way your information can be accessed and is synchronized between your devices (Mac, iPhone, iPad) and on the web at www.icloud.com from any computer browser.  The Mail, Calendar and Contacts software applications manage this data and come in iOS versions for your portable devices and macOS versions for your Mac.

To clarify, I open Contacts, see a person I wish to send an email to, click on their name and the email form appears. Except it's from my previous Gmail account. When I migrated from Google contacts to Apple Contacts that process stayed with Gmail. I wish to be able to click that email name in Contacts and have the return address be my main address, which is ...@FlorentineFilms.com. I can't figure out how to change it.
