I updated my iPad mini 3 to iOS 11 and I let it...

I recently updated to iOS 11.0.1 and I got that recovery screen mode and I don’t know why it popped up to that and I’m very confused and it says I need to either update it or I need to restore it and I don’t have a modern back up for it and it will delete a lot of my data which I do not want to do so I really need help on to how I can fix this because I tried updating it on my computer and iTunes but my cord was being stupid  and when I finally waited an hour and a half for it to go through it said my iPad is no longer Connected to the computer and I really don’t have time to wait for this so I need something quick or just some good advice to help me
