Sort tracks in audiobooks

iOS 10.3.3, on iPhone6

I rip audiobook CD's to my computer. In iTunes, I load the CD's and set the right disc number, so that all the tracks have disc number and track number. Then I change the title, to make them into one book, and convert to ACC. I rename the files from m4a to m4b, so that they show up as audiobooks.

When loading these books on my iPod nano touch, the sorting works excellent, starting with disc 1 track 1, then disc 1 track 2 etc, but when trying to load onto my iPhone, the tracks seem to be in random order, a total mess With no relation to disc or track. What is the reason for this? It is as if the disk and track information is totally ignored in the iBooks app.

Are you on iPod Nano, or iPod Touch?

If you’re on iPod Touch, and the numbers you added precede chapter names, you should be able to sort them by Title.
