IPad Photo Synchronisation Problems

Following recent Apple software updates, neither of my iPads can synchronise photos effectively. 100-150 at a time (max) and then “Internal error message appears”. Tried removing iTunes / associated software, & rebooting but no joy. Even tried wiping the iPad completely, but no joy. Looking forward to news on how to fix this.....
