I used to be able to send receive a mess@ge on iPad and also see it, add to it on my iPhone & vice-versa, that feature has stopped working and I don’t know how to recover it. Thank you.

Hi. You need to update the Continuity settings on bothe iPad and iPhone. See this link: Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support. You may need to log out of Messages, then log back in.
