Credit card information vanished

Last week I used Apple Pay at Walgreen’s, Subway, and Circle K.  It worked flawlessly.

I went to use it today at Walgreen’s and when I went to tap nothing popped up on my phone.  Okay.  I try it again at Circle K.  Nothing. I try it at Subway.  Nothing!

So, I go back into my settings and all of my credit card information is gone from Apple Pay.  Like it had never been set up before. All credit cards just up and vanished.

What gives??  What am I missing here?

Hi ..

Check your bank accounts to see if the transactions went through.

Your profile indicates your device has iOS 5.0.1 installed.

Just to make sure, Apple Pay requires an  iPhone 6 or 6 Plus or Pad Air 2 or iPad mini 3 running iOS 8.1 or later

I made sure the successful attempts at using Apple Pay did go through and they did.  The attempts that were unsuccessful did not go through.  I checked my bank account to be sure.

I am currently using the iPhone 6 using iOS8.1.  Hence the reason I was able to use Apple Pay initially.

Same thing happened to me. I went to use it and it as if I never set it up. I had entered two credit cards and a debit card and all were gone.

Had you done a Restore to your iPhone between using Apple Pay and then finding your Credit / Debit Cards were no longer available within your PassBook App?

I did do a restore but don't remember if it was before or after. It's very possible and most likely the answer to the missing cards.

I did, not a restore, but an IOS update and my cards disappeared.  Reloaded them. Worked for several transactions. Then, a few days ago, I had to turn off password on my phone so my niece could take Square charges on it at an art show I was participating in.  Re-activated it after show, but was in Whole Foods yesterday, and they had disappeared again.  Very embarrassing.  Guess if the wind blows the wrong direction, one's Apple Pay cards are deleted...

Apple requires that you have either a 4 digit PIN or password setup to use Apple Pay.  If you disable that, the credit card information stored for Apple Pay will be deleted.

If you remove your device security, all the Pay information will be deleted, for your protection.

Thanks JaxFLBear and Skid, makes sense but I wish they would have a warning before they removed the info.

True! I did turn off my password protection for a race and lost all my cards in wallet. Now I know lol
