Starting a Family Share Plan...

If I start a Family Share Plan, what happens to the existing apps already on a particular device? Do they delete themselves and have to be reloaded? Do the apps restart themselves and you loose all existing info up to that point? Like a game app, does it restart it’s self to the beginning?
