No Location Service

I recently purchased a brand new ipad pro 10.5 inch wi-fi only model and have installed the latest update 11.0.2

I am very disappointed to discover that location services don't work.

I called Apple Care in Adelaide (South Australia) and was told that the GPS module is only installed on the Cellular Models.

Is this true?

I cannot believe that.

I have a tablet which comes with Apple Maps etc and I cannot find my location (even using wifi)!

Not happy about this.
