chrome browser error

I have downloaded the Chrome Browser several times but have never been able to have it work on my Mac. I keep getting this error:

 

This site can’t be reached

https://bluehost.com/ is unreachable.

 

ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE

 

I have put Chrome in my firewall permissions but nothing seems to work. Why is this? How do I fix. As I have said, I have tried many times to get it to work.

The issue isn't with Chrome, it's with your ISP or your network connection.

 

Simply put, it can't reach the address for bluehost.com for whatever reason.

 

Can you reach other sites on the Internet?  If so, it may be because Chrome uses a different proxy mechanism than Safari does.

 

If you can't reach other sites, do you need to use a proxy server normally, or did you have one set but you no longer need one?

No issues with Safari or any other browser. Only happens when I try to use Chrome. Any fix ideas?

Can you reach other sites, say apple.com, with Chrome?

Remarkably, I can! Appears to be the only one. Can't reach Google, Yahoo, Microsoft or anything else I can think of. Why Apple?

Try going to https://158.85.109.114. Allow the connection to continue if you get an error warning you the connection is not private.

 

That's one of the IP addresses for www.bluehost.com, and if that works, there's a DNS issue of some type going on.

 

If you haven't yet, you may also want to try resetting all your Chrome settings to their defaults by following the instructions here.

This appears to be the issue. I am on FIOS with Frontier (however, had the same issue when it was Verizon). I have set my DNS to use Google, and OpenDNS - doesn't make a difference. Any ideas as to how to fix this? Why wouldn't Google DNS do the job?

is messed up.  When I tried the site in Chrome [ Version 61.0.3163.79 (Official Build) (64-bit) ], the site flashed up briefly then I got a blank screen.  Site worked in Firefox.
