I cannot get apple music onto my iPod Nano.

I cannot get apple music onto my iPod Nano, model number MKN52LL. I have checked the icloud music library box and updated icloud library. I have checked that I have the most up to date version on iOS (1.1.2)  Storage capacity is 14.71gb with 12.8 gb available. The songs are showing in my itunes library but not my iPod. Have been trying to sort this for hours and I can't figure out where I am going wrong. I would be really grateful if anyone can help me
