Storage Documents Issue

I upgraded my Icloud storage to 50Gb less than a month ago, and now my storage is full of documents.  I havent added or saved 61GB of documents, but thats what my storage usage says.  I cant access these files to view them or delete them.  I'm now being offered the option of upgrading to 200Gb for no apparent reason.  I've managed fine with the free 5Gb for over 4 years and now that I've upgraded, it seems to have been chewed up.
