Home Sharing is out

I have iTunes 12 running on my desktop (windows 7) and laptop (windows 10) computers, with home sharing enabled on both and signed into the same ID. However, the two iTunes libraries are out of sync - I recently downloaded a new album from a non-itunes source and added it to the library on my Windows 7 desktop computer, but I can't get it to show up on my laptop. How can I force Home Sharing to update?
