How do I set up two email accounts that use the same host server?

When I try to set up the accounts they end up using only one of the addresses for both sending and receiving.

Each email account needs a different user_name and password. Both accounts, however, can use the same SMTP address.

Yes, I tried this but it did not work. So, I tried deleting one of the accounts from my mail preferences and then reinstalling it. I deleted the account but, every time I try to add it back in, I get a message that it is already in use. I tracked this down to a game app. and am now trying to get rid of that app. Maybe this will work.
