Macbook stuck in "looking for backup disk" when...

I have recently bought a new Time Capsule, & have set it up as per the instructions, however my macbook is constantly having difficulties connecting to it. The Time capsule is connected to my ISP's router by ethernet cable & is giving out a wifi signal, which I am successfully using as my main source of internet in my apartment. However I am unable to connect to it to do a back up. I have been into my local Apple store & worked with a Genius there on 3 separate occasions, & each time I was able to connect immediately on the first attempt. Following the final visit to the Genius Bar, I started following through & beginning doing the back up while in the store. I was then able to continue it to completion at home. However since then, to try to do the next scheduled back up, I am back to the old issue of getting stuck in "looking for backup disk".
