Weird keyboard issue

I'm using the new 2016 macbook pro with touchbar and having a strange issue with the keyboard. As I'm typing, the "&" symbol causes either my word document to open on full screen mode OR my MS OneNote to open spontaneously. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but pretty frequent >50%. I didn't set up my keyboard to do this and it seems inconsistent, so I'm not sure what the trigger is or how to fix it. It also happens when I use other apps on my laptop. Typing "&" into different study tools causes OneNote to open.

This has started ever since I got the laptop a few months ago...I ended up exchanging the first macbook pro touchbar I got and it's happening again w/ the second.

please help!
