Apple ID/ICloud issue

Ok- I have tried to contact Apple about this on numerous occasions and every time I have been fobbed off- waited for hours on hold- ignored when I've contacted back, etc. I have been to an Apple store in London who was unable to solve the problem, but don't live anywhere near one, so can't go to visit again to sort it out.

When I got my IPhone, it attached to an old iCloud account I had. Now, I don't have that e-mail address or phone number any longer, and it tells me (and has been checked) that the AppleID no longer exists.

However, my phone is attached to it. It can't be signed out without entering a password, which I can't do as the account doesn't exist anymore. Nor the e-mail address it would have sent to for a password reset.

This has been attached on my phone for 2 years now. I've tried to get help from Apple before to remove it, and basically been told it's a security feature, to do this and that, turn off Find my iPhone (which I can't do without a password and which doesn't work from the website), and so on. I tried this with Apple support on the phone and spent hours trying to solve a problem which was never solved.

It has been annoying, not being able to save anything to the cloud and so on, but I've survived. However, since the new update, it is CONSTANTLY barraging me with 'sign in' notifications to iCloud and so every single time I unlock my phone, there's 3 notifications in a row asking me to sign in. Obviously, can't put up with that much longer.

I'd like to know if there are any tips or tricks to delete this old iCloud account off my phone- ideally without deleting all of the content as... no iCloud to back it up to. Bearing in mind- no password, the account it's locked to doesn't exist, even if it did- the contact details for it no longer exist either.

Thank you.
