Why have my Pages and Numbers files disappeared from both my iPhone 6s and iPad (2016)? I am using iOS 11.0.2. when I open the apps, I get iCloud Drive. I have to hit “Location,” then hit the appropriate device (iPhone or iPad) and then get to my documents.

 

It seems the material from both apps are stored by default to iCloud Drive. Why can’t I simply access them by opening the apps?
