iPhone software upgrade

Since I upgraded the software, I can’t download or update anything free without iTunes trying to charge $6 and some change and at the moment I don’t have a job so the card on file is empty.  I saw somewhere you could change payment info to none, but I don’t have that option either.  Unless, I just am not going to the right place on my phone.  I have a few apps that I have to download for school as I don’t have a laptop.

Help!!

Buy an iTunes Store gift card and use that to pay the debt. You won’t have a None option until it’s settled.
