Selection based processing question concerning EQ.

Logic 10.3.2, imac 2.7, 8 ram, Sierra, Saffire pro 40

Hello again,

I isolated a particular audio region for a bit of extra EQ. When i called up the EQ (Functions/Selection based processing/EQ) i was surprised to see that the EQ setting was not flat. Rather, the setting seemed to be the last one i used for the project. This confuses me. Why would anyone want Selection based processing EQ to be anything but flat?

1- Isn’t the idea to add or subtract corrective EQ to what you’ve already dialled in to your channel EQ?

2- If your Selection based processing EQ is the same or similar to your channel EQ, wouldn’t they ‘pile up’ and create a mess?

3- Or does the Selection based processing EQ override the channel EQ in the selected region?

Thanks.
