How to get rid of MacBook Pro message to enter ...

Every time I wake my laptop to use it, I get two error messages.  Messages read ".....cannot sync iPhone / iPad b/c iPhone / iPad is locked with a passcode....".  When I check "Cancel", nothing happens unless I repeatedly hit Cancel, which can be as many as 20x for each message.

Otherwise, I have to manually take out my iPhone AND iPad, and enter the numeric passcodes.  That is unacceptable in a business or educational environment since it happens multiple times a day.

I have searched for a way to disable that notification, but have found nothing.

This just started after the latest iOS11 and MBP High Sierra update.  Prior to this, I just had my devices nearby and they just didn't sync until I unlocked them.  No error messages to get rid of.

Please advise.

Do you have sync over wifi turned on on the devices?

I know at one point I had it turned on but had the device trying to open iTunes multiple times in an evening to sync so I turned it off. I believe I also changed the setting from ‘open itunes when device is connected’ to turn that off.

If you do have sync over wifi turned on its possible you can leave it turned on, just disable the device’s ability to open iTunes. Or if you are someone that uses iTunes a lot for music or the such, you may wish to alter being able to sync over wifl.
