iOS 11.0.3 charging issue with Square Stand (po...

I have an iPad running iOS 11.0.3 that I use as my point of sale with Square.  The iPad plugs into a stand from square, and stays charged through the lightning adapter in the stand.  The problem is, that the iPad no longer charges through the stand.  The iPad still charges with a regular charger, the stand will charge an older iPad still.  So Both iPad and stand work, they just don't work together.  I have spoken with Square support.  From what they told me, the problem is the update to iOS 11.  After talking to my onsite staff who use the system, the problems charging did coincide with the timing of the update.

Is this a known problem at the moment?  Has anyone else experienced this?  According to Square, they've been getting this alot, and won't replace the stand  because it won't fix anything as the problem is Apple's.  Is it possible to roll back to the previous iOS?  From what I gathered looking in the community forums (albiet for only about 10 minutes so far), that isn't possible.  Yet Square's recommendation is to roll back to iOS 10.
