iwatch battery swelling

Hi

I have a 1st gen Apple Watch, bought in june 2015.

Battery keeps swelling and falling off. Is this fixable under the warranty? Reading online that Apple has extended warranty to 3yrs as it’s acknowledged it’s a major hardware issue.

However online Apple only says it’s a 1 year warranty?
