Apple music keeps cycling through songs

When I downloaded the new iTunes update on my MacBook air (12.7.2.58) it resulted in when I tried to play music it  would just keep cycling through my songs until it would eventually land on one. When I play music on my iPhone everything works fine. I've tried everything I can think of to possibly fix it but the problem won't go away. It's getting pretty annoying now and does anyone know how I can stop this from happening.

if you sign out of your account and then sign back in that fixed it for me
