screen active only while wrist is tilted toward...

So, first a disclaimer, I'm brand new to Apple Watch. Just got a series 1 and I'm trying to use a haptic metronome app to work on the timing of my putting stroke. But the second that I move my wrist away from the position where the screen is pointing at my face, the metronome stops. For that matter, all apps seem to stop working at this point. I know on the iPhone, or iPad that you can adjust the settings so that the screen doesn't turn off. How can I do this on my Apple Watch?

Hello,  The watch is made to shut off fairly quickly to conserve battery, however this might help.

Open the Watch app on your phone.  Tap General, scroll down to Wake Screen;  you will find numerous options for waking up the watch, and keeping it awake.  You can select to keep the watch awake for 70 seconds.  This would give you more time, but it will keep the screen lit for 70 seconds everytime the watch wakes.

You might also open settings on your phone.  Scroll down to the app and select it.  See if the app has an option to run in background.  Make sure this is allowed.

Also, if you go into the watch app on your phone, select General, About, scroll to the bottom, and you will find a link to the Apple Watch User Guide.  You might enjoy reading through to see all the cool things you can use your watch for.

I hope that helps.  Have Fun!
