iTunes 12.7 update problems: What happened to m...

I am a Mac user.

When I updated to iTunes 12.7, my present music archive disappeared.

Every time I try to uninstall 12.7 and re-install 12.6, I am directed to 12.7 again. Non-sense.

Any guidence / information?

Hi Sadi,

It sounds like you may have two separate issues here. Let's start with 12.7.

In a rare move, Apple has created an alternative upgrade path for users who are unhappy with the changes in 12.7. There's a version 12.6.3 that you can install over an earlier installation of 12.7, which retains the features of the earlier version and won't bug you to update. Read more about this here:

As to the missing library, here's something to read that might be helpful:

if you don’t see your library after updating https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203225

The essential step here involves replacing the main iTunes database — iTunes Library.itl — with an earlier, saved version of this file, which you should be able to find in the folder iTunes/Previous iTunes Libraries (or from a Time Machine backup).
