I have a dead Imac desktop(2009)version and I want to use the Duet Display app to access the dead Imac.Can this be done and if yes,how? My email is *****@hotmail.com.Thank you.

I think you need to check with the maker of the Duet Display app instead. As far as I know the options to use an iMac as a second monitor all require that the iMac actually work. Examples: if the power supply in the iMac is dead, the display can get no power. If the hard drive is dead, required video drivers will not load. If the graphics hardware in the iMac have failed, the display can be either blank or garbled.

So this app developer is your best shot as they should know what they can do with a dead iMac.
