can you upgrade parts in an imac
Thinking of buying an iMac 27 inch 5k. Thinking about the future. Can the hard drive be replace ( 1T fusion drive) and the graphics. Not sure if it’s onboard, a separate card, or on the processor. I have only read in support that the memory can be replace no other topics. Thanks if you can help.
Generally no. iMacs like most AIO's are not intended to be upgraded after they have been sold as new. If you want/need upgrades get them at the time of purchase. However, 27" iMacs can have the RAM upgraded by the user. Items such as HD's, GPUs, CPUs cannot be upgraded by the user for the most part. However if you want a larger HD or a SSD you can add these as an external component and connect either via Thunderbolt or USB 3.0.
