Buying a series 3 (GPS+LTE)

Hello,

I'm hoping to buy an Apple Watch series 3 in stainless steel later this month. This model is only available as a cellular model.

That means I can't buy it here in the Netherlands, yet. But since I live very close to Germany I'm planning to take a little trip. Luckily I don't have to activate the cellular function immediately so I can use it as a regular GPS model.

However I saw a message somewhere in the community that I had to keep in mind that buying a watch abroad might have alternative UMTS bands and what more.

As far as I know I can travel to Germany and many other European countries without any problems on my iPhone whatsoever.

If you please could sum up the points I'd have to keep in mind / consider before buying a device then I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

Regard,

Jeroen

There are none to keep in mind. The iPhone is not locked and you don't have the Cellular model yet because Apple has not reached an agreement with any carrier in your country to have a phone plan for the device. Since you are in the EU your warranty will be valid in Denmark although I would guess there would be a delay in getting a replacement if you had to get one. LTE bands should not be an issue because as you have already noted your iPhone will work in either country.
